  • CREATE A DREAM CATCHER FOR OUR THEME "DREAMS COME TRUE UNDER PARAMUS BLUE'. WRITE YOUR DREAM ON HOW YOU WILL MAKE PARAMUS A BETTER PLACE ON THE DREAM CATCHER.

  • PURCHASE A NEW AND UNUSED WHITE CAP FROM YOUR LOCAL ART STORE! THE ONE FEATURED IS FROM MICHAEL'S FOR $2.99
  • MAKE YOUR CAP! ALL CAPS SHOULD BE CREATED BY THE CHILD. MINIMAL TO NO ADULT HELP IS ADVISED
  • DECORATE YOUR CAP FOLLOWING OUR THEME "DREAMS COME TRUE UNDER PARAMUS BLUE". HERE ARE SOME IDEAS:
    • WRITE A DREAM ABOUT WHAT PARAMUS WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN YOU GROW UP 
    • WRITE A DREAM OF HOW YOU CAN MAKE PARAMUS A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE
    • WRITE A DREAM OF WHAT YOU WILL BE WHEN YOU GROW UP
  • REMEMBER TO WRITE ON THE DREAM CATCHER YOUR:
    • FIRST AND LAST NAME 
    • EMAIL ADDRESS AND HOUSE PHONE LINE
    • THE GRADE YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN
    • TEACHER'S NAME AND NAME OF YOUR SCHOOL
  • MAKE SURE YOUR DREAM CATCHER IS LEGIBLE AND IN PERMANENT MARKER

WINNERS WILL RECEIVE:

  • A paperback book from Paramus Public Library's R.I.F. (Reading Is Fundamental) Collection
  • The chance to walk with the winning dream catcher in the July 4th Parade
  • Certificate of Commendation from the office of the honorable Mayor Richard A. LaBarbiera 
  • All dream catchers must be family friendly. We ask no guns or drawing characters of degrading nature. All dream catchers must relate to the theme

winner information:

  • Each grade (K-4) will have 3 winners and there will be two grand prize winners
  • The two grand prize winners will be picked; one as Ms. Fourth of July and one as Mr. Fourth of July
  • Submit the dream catcher to your art teacher or hand it in to the Main Library or Reid Branch Library by June 9, 2017
  • Winners will be selected week of June 12th and returned to your school prior to the end of the school year. All art teachers will have a list of winners and you will also be notified by email. Please refer only to the email address provided
  • Each grade will have a winner
  • All winners are welcomed and encouraged to march in the July 4th Parade
  • All grand prize winners will receive an award at the end of the parade and must participate in the July 4th Parade
  • The award will be presented by Mayor Richard A. LaBarbiera at the Grandstand
